Edu-Series: When Language and Cognition Collide: Evidence-Based Assessment and Treatment

Despite our field's emphasis on language and cognition as separate clinical populations, most individuals with neurologic communication disorders experience both language and cognitive impairments to some degree.

In this presentation, we explore the interrelatedness of language and other cognitive functions and how they can affect our treatment goals and outcomes.

We will explore three easy-to-access cognitive assessments that are appropriate for co-occurring language and cognitive impairments.

We will end by highlighting three evidence-based treatments that can be used for both language and cognitive disorders.
