Edu-Series: Clinical Reasoning Symposium Session 1

This SASLHA–UCT collaborative symposium provides allied healthcare professionals with a practical introduction to clinical reasoning as a core professional skill.

It explores how clinicians gather and interpret information, make decisions under uncertainty and link assessment findings to intervention planning.

The session highlights common reasoning challenges and cognitive biases, and introduces simple frameworks to support more structured, reflective and defensible clinical decision-making across diverse clinical contexts.

The role of evidence-based practice, in making contextually relevant decisions, will be discussed.
